William Lyon Mackenzie King Faultline was born to a affluent family in the rich Toronto suburb of Thornhill. A distant cousin to the former crackpot Prime Minister who believed his dog was the reincarnation of his mother, Faultine served his country at a young age. He joined the Canadian Army Cadets when he turned 13.

Faultline was a natural in the Cadets and quickly rose to the rank of major because, frankly, none of the other kids wanted the responsibility and because he often gave his drill-sergeant the flans he made in home ec class.

But everything changed for Faultline, when due to budget restrictions, the Canadian Space Agency was forced to use the cadets for a secret interplanetary mission. I know it sounds irresponsible, but come on, give those CSA guys a break. They don’t have NASA money.

The mission was short-lived. As soon their shuttle reached the moon, it was invaded by a race of giant cube-faced Asparagusians from Seti Alpha 9. Faultline’s entire squadron was taken hostage and the Asparagusians Men performed various genetic experiments on the young teens one by ones. Faultine was last. The blood-curdling deaths screams of the other boys will forever haunt his soul – that is, when he’s sober.

Upon hearing of the cadets’ deaths, the CSA sought justice but then determined that the signal they had sent the cadets to investigate, was actually a request by the Asparagusians for them to be sent human boys to perform genetic tests on. So they laughed off the misunderstanding.

But Faultine survived – even if no one else did. He has no memory of the operation but he awoke at home to discover the Aspagarusians had grafted strange electronic, working parts onto his chest and right hand. He quickly learned this alien nanotechnology had given him earthquake powers. His parents’ house was swallowed up by the Earth when he tripped getting out of bed and his new over-sized hand hit the floor.

Faultline was thrilled with his new powers – and not just because it gave his last name significance. He could finally right the wrongs of the world – with earthquakes! Granted, he was still getting a handle on his powers. It was one thing to create an earthquake to swallow up a man in a robber’s mask running away from a bank carrying bags with dollar signs on them – but when he tried to stop runaway pigs from a turned-over truck on the 401, he created a rip in the Earth so large, he fell to the centre of it.

He fell in to the heart of Leopardia, an underworld kingdom run by cat people. He briefly met the Queen, who would become known to the surface world as Leopard Woman, but didn’t think ,uch of it because she looked like a cat. She, however, was instantly smitten and renounced her throne to track down and marry the very surprised Major.

The two joined the superhero team Ronin Force and faught evil as a duo. Things were going well for Faultline, the superhero pay was good, he got along well with his wife – even if she was only in heat one week out of a year. He was even leader of Ronin Force for awhile. But then Captain Euchre decided it’d be a huge laughto make the police think Faultline was actually a supervillain named the Arc Welder. Ronin Force has strict policies about suspected moonlighting stints as a super villain, so The Major was kicked off the team and thrown in jail. For a week.

Now he’s out of jail and trying to work his way back into Ronin Force – which is more difficult than he expected…
